NCARB President-elect Elevated to AIA College of Fellows

NCARB President-elect Terry L. Allers, FAIA, NCARB, Hon. FCARM, was elevated to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in February 2019.
This distinguished fellowship recognizes architects for their individual achievements, as well as their contributions to society and the profession. Allers was honored for his efforts to “actively, efficiently, and cooperatively” lead the regulation of architecture. The 2019 Fellows will be honored at an investiture ceremony during the annual AIA Conference on Architecture in Las Vegas.
Allers has served as a member of the Iowa Architectural Examining Board for nine years, including several terms as board chair. His volunteer work with NCARB includes service on the Audit, Broadly Experienced Architect, Education, Examination, Experience, and Experience Advisory committees, as well as terms as secretary/treasurer and vice chair of Region 4. Allers was elected as first vice president/president-elect at the 2018 NCARB Annual Business Meeting in Detroit, Michigan, and will be inaugurated as the organization’s president at the Centennial Annual Business Meeting in June 2019. He has also represented NCARB on the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) accreditation teams since 2009, having served as a visiting team member on three visits and as chair of a fourth visiting team.
In addition to his service to the regulation of the profession, Allers is president of Allers Associates Architects, PC, which he founded in 1979. He has been an NCARB Certificate holder and member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) since 1974. He also served on the Iowa Chapter of the AIA Board of Directors for three years and has been on numerous AIA committees. Allers is a graduate of Iowa State University and is licensed in Iowa and Minnesota.

Architect Recognized for Public Service

Terry Allers, AIA, a member of the American Institute of Architects, Iowa Chapter (AIA
Iowa) has been recognized as a participant in the AIA Iowa Citizen Architect Program by
AIA Iowa for service to the Fort Dodge area.
Allers, of Allers Associates Architects PC in Fort Dodge, was elected
Second Vice President of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. NCARB works to protect
the public health, safety and welfare by leading the regulation of the practice of architecture through the development and application of standards for licensure and
credentialing of architects. As Second Vice President, Allers represents NCARB
at various functions and is Board Liason to the
Member Board Executive Committee. Allers has been involved with NCARB in multiple roles since 2005.

Jim Hosek - Newly Licensed Architect

Fort Dodge -
Jim Hosek has successfully completed all seven
divisions of the Architect Registration Examination
(ARE) and has received his license from the Iowa
Architectural Examining Board.
Jim received a Bachelor of
Architecture degree from Iowa State University in
2004. He is also an NCARB Certificate holder and a
member of the American Institute of Architects.
For the last 8 years, he has
been responsible for a number of local and regional
projects and recently the Fort Dodge Municipal
Priority Renovations, and Community Health Center of
Fort Dodge Renovations.

Michael Clausen - Newly Licensed Architect

Fort Dodge - Michael Clausen recently passed all seven divisions of the Architect
Registration Examination (ARE) and has received an Iowa license from the Iowa Architectural Examining Board.
Michael has accepted
a Project Architect position at Allers Associates Architects, PC, Fort Dodge and has been employed with the design firm as a
Project Manager since 1999.
Some recent projects Michael has been the project manager for include: numerous projects at
UnityPoint Health – TRMC – Fort Dodge; Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance Offices – Fort Dodge; First State Bank branches -
Fort Dodge, Clarion, and Humboldt; Van Diest Supply Company Corporate Office Exterior Renovation and Expansion – Webster City.
Michael is a graduate of Iowa State University, Ames, with a Bachelor of Architecture degree.
