Retail Pharmacy - Trinity Regional Medical Center

Retail Pharmacy at Trinity Regional Medical Center

Adjacent to the Java Café, the retail pharmacy shares a high traffic pathway between the POB East physicians office building and the hospital ‘proper’. The retail pharmacy is a small establishment offering ease of access for those choosing to fill prescriptions on site.

The location needed to be a careful insertion into an underused niche of the hospital’s cafeteria. The floor plan fits within it’s space utilizing curves, acute, and obtuse angles. Program requirements for the pharmacy include: waiting area, private consultation room, work areas, retail inventory, and manager’s office. Functionality requirements of the space include: pharmacist visibility from the work areas to the service counter, security, inventory placements, and easy access to the consultation room for the pharmacist.

The architect worked closely with pharmacy staff to develop a flowing floor plan while working within the boundary of space available.
